Ewa M Michalak

Dr Ewa Michalak is an NHMRC CJ Martin Early Career Fellow and senior postdoctoral researcher in the Stem Cells and Cancer Division at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI). She completed her PhD in the field of apoptosis with Prof Andreas Strasser at WEHI in 2006, before undertaking postdoctoral research at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, initially on a Marie Curie Fellowship. Here, she developed an interest in mammary gland biology and after returning to Australia in 2013, she has continued to work on the role of Polycomb group proteins in mammary stem cells, development and tumorigenesis.
