Clare G Fedele
Dr Fedele is a postdoctoral research fellow currently working with Dr Mark Shackleton in the Melanoma Research Laboratory at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She earned her PhD in 2009 from Monash University, studying signal transduction pathways in breast cancer in the lab of Prof Christina Mitchell. Her current research is focused on the identification of novel drivers of melanoma genesis and disease progression using biologically- and clinically-relevant in vivo mouse modelling. She is particularly interested in studying how melanoma cells adapt to their environment, allowing melanoma metastasis and acquired therapy resistance. For this work Dr Fedele was awarded a Clare Oliver Memorial Fellowship from the Victorian Cancer Agency and is also the recipient of a Peter Doherty Early Career Fellowship from the NHMRC.
